Periscope and Meerkat

While we make it our business to keep up to date on the latest tools, platforms and trends in digital media, we sat back and waited when it came to live streaming apps Pericope and Meerkat.  Why?  Well, with two strong contenders in the market launching in very close proximity, the first question was which horse to back!

Twitter owns Periscope, and as such, this user base has developed more quickly, already surpassing 10 million registered accounts by August of 2015.

Meerkat stats to date show around 2 million users, but suggestions are that the Meerkat audience is more engaged.

Both Meerkat and Periscope are cheap and easy tools to use, with little risk and resources needed to give them a go, something that many of our clients are worried about.

So, right now, there is still no obvious answer, you can read this post for the pro’s and con’s of both apps.  We can’t choose for you (yet!).
