FIONA CREAN | Public Service

SABRA DESAI | Education

MARILYN EMERY | Health

TERIANO LESANCHA Young Woman of Distinction

FIONA SAMPSON Law and Justice

BETH WILSON | Corporate Leadership

Special thanks to Teriano Lesancha for making us cry by bringing her Mom all the way from Kenya to the stage to share how proud she is of her daughter.  Teriano is not only the first woman, but the first person from her Maasai village Loodariak, to graduate from university. In Loodariak, where 99% of women and girls are illiterate and pre-teen marriages are common, Teriano’s achievements are truly remarkable.

The Carlu is a simply stunning venue (and hidden gem in our city), who knew there was a concert hall and event space right above the College Subway station that is so beautiful.  If you love Art Deco/Art Moderne, it’s a place to check out!

Another reason to love The Carlu?  This!

We can’t wait to see what else these inspiring Women of Distinction go on to achieve, and we continue to support the great work of the YWCA and especially the 1st Stop Centre .
